Bio:Chiang-Hua Chang, PhD, MS recently joined the faculty of the Division of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan after spending many years at Dartmouth. After working as a master’s trained statistician as part of The Dartmouth Atlas team, she obtained a PhD in the Evaluative Clinical Sciences and transitioned to Dartmouth faculty where she became an expert in observational studies of health services research in Medicare. With over 30 years of extensive expertise in using Medicare and Medicaid claims data, Dr. Chang has studied regional variation, workforce, care delivery patterns, risk effects of prescription use, and impact of continuity in dementia among Medicare beneficiaries. She is part of the Technical and Data Core providing expertise on development validation processes to identify people living with dementia based on various data sources using novel algorithms, and assisting pilot project teams for specific technical and data issues.
