SUMMARY:AcademyHealth 2022 Annual Research Meeting Pre-Conference Workshop: "Essentials of Embedded Pragamatic Clinical Trials"
DESCRIPTION:Vince Mor\, PhD\, IMPACT Multiple Principal Investigator\, will participate as a panelist discussing challenges\, solutions and lessons learned. \nEssentials of Embedded Pragmatic Clinical Trials\n\nDate/Time: Friday\, June 3\, 2022 | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.\nLocation: TBD\nRegistration: $300\nRegister Here » \nThis workshop introduces concepts in the design\, conduct\, and implementation of embedded pragmatic clinical trials (ePCTs)\, with a particular focus on methods relevant to health services researchers. The workshop will provide an introduction to the investigative opportunities for embedded health systems research\, along with strategies for conducting clinical trials that provide real-world evidence necessary to inform both practice and policy. Firsthand ePCT experiences and case studies from the NIH Health Care Systems Research Collaboratory Demonstration Projects will support and illustrate the topics presented. Vince Mor\, PhD\, will be one of 4 principle investigators of ePCTs participating in an afternoon panel discussion moderated by Kevin Weinfurt\, PhD.  The panel will reflect on the morning topics and discuss challenges\, solutions\, and lessons learned. \nObjectives:  \n\nTo clarify the definition of ePCTs and explain their utility;\nTo introduce attendees to the unique characteristics and challenges of designing\, conducting\, and implementing ePCTs within diverse health care systems;\nAnd\, to increase the capacity of health services researchers to address important clinical questions with ePCTs.\n\nLearn more:\nhttps://academyhealth.org/arm/pre-conference
