Bio
Marcel Salive, MD, MPH, is a National Institute on Aging project scientist on the IMPACT Collaboratory. Dr. Salive administers NIA’s research portfolio on multiple chronic conditions treatment and prevention, polypharmacy, and deprescribing. He developed initiatives on pragmatic clinical trials, including treatment of comorbid conditions in persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Previously, he served as director of the Division of Medical and Surgical Services within the Coverage and Analysis Group of CMS and was responsible for developing and maintaining national coverage decisions for Medicare beneficiaries and led an expansion of prevention coverage that is on par with diagnostic and treatment services. He currently serves on the Medicare Evidence Development and Coverage Advisory Committee. Dr. Salive earned chemistry and medical degrees from the University of Michigan and completed his preventive medicine residency and a master’s in public health at Johns Hopkins University. He is a fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine.
