Overview
Mission
The mission of the National Institute on Aging (NIA) IMbedded Pragmatic Alzheimer's disease (AD) and AD-Related Dementias (AD/ADRD) Clinical Trials (IMPACT) Collaboratory is to build the nation’s capacity to conduct pragmatic clinical trials of interventions embedded within health care systems for people living with dementia and their care partners.
The IMPACT Collaboratory accomplishes this mission by:
- Supporting and funding pragmatic trials in dementia care
- Building investigator capacity to conduct high-quality pragmatic trials in dementia care
- Catalyzing engagement among investigators, health care systems, and community partners
- Ensuring the research meets the needs of all Americans with dementia and their care partners
Community of Experts
The IMPACT Collaboratory brings together a multidisciplinary group of over 50 investigators representing approximately 25 academic institutions with expertise in dementia, health care systems, electronic health records and administrative data, design and analysis of ePCTs, ethics and regulatory issues specific to dementia, outcomes ascertainment, implementation science, training investigators, and meeting the needs of high-risk, high-need populations. The IMPACT Collaboratory provides the infrastructure for these investigators to partner with health care systems and other interested parties from across the nation.
Together, the IMPACT Collaboratory is building the nation’s capacity to conduct ePCTs among PLWD and their caregivers by supporting the design and conduct of ePCTs, building investigator capacity, ensuring the research meets the needs of high-risk, high-need populations and developing and disseminating best practice research methods,
