Implementation iLibraries

Implementation iLibraries

The IMPACT Implementation Core has developed three iLibraries (dynamic searchable databases) within AirTable. Learn more about each iLibrary below:

Telehealth Interventions for Care Partners of People Living with Dementia

The iLibrary provides ongoing documentation of telehealth interventions for care partners of people living with dementia. All interventions in this resource were tested in a randomized controlled trial, contained at least one outcome for care partners and at least one synchronous interaction between an interventionist and the care partner. As investigators seek to develop, test, and implement care partner interventions over the phone and/or internet, understanding the landscape of prior interventions can aid in both new intervention development and tailoring to the target audience and setting.

Dementia Care Interventions for Formal Care Partners

This is a companion resource that provides an interactive version of the data tables describing the studies synthesized in the following publication by members of the Implementation Core:

  • Sefcik JS, Boltz M, Dellapina M, Gitlin LN. Are Interventions for Formal Caregivers Effective for Improving Dementia Care? A Systematic Review of Systematic Reviews. Innov Aging. 2022 Feb 5;6(2):igac005. org/10.1093/geroni/igac005. PMID: 35496650; PMCID: PMC9042653.

The purpose of this publication is to understand the effectiveness of interventions for formal care partners of people living with dementia through a review of existing systematic reviews. For more information, please refer to the publication above.

Non-Pharmacological Care Partner Interventions for People Living with Dementia (PLWD) Implemented in the United States

This iLibrary provides a living collection of the original efficacy trials for dementia care partner interventions. While other resources exist that document implemented care partner interventions (such as the Best Practice Caregiving database), this iLibrary is the only resource known to Implementation Core members which focuses only on the original efficacy trials for non-pharmacological care partner interventions. This iLibrary documents:

  • Characteristics of the interventions
  • Setting in which the intervention was originally tested
  • Outcomes assessed in the original trial

Understanding the characteristics, settings, and outcomes of successfully implemented interventions can help researchers identify gaps in the literature, support their adaptation to different settings and populations, and develop future interventions.
