Bio: Christopher M. Callahan, MD, MACP is a physician-scientist and Chief Research and Development Officer at Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Callahan graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1985 and completed his internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine and a fellowship in health services research at Indiana University. He has served on the faculty at the Indiana University School of Medicine for 30 years. His clinical practice at Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis focuses on the care of older people living with Alzheimer’s disease and AD-related dementias. He is a Scientist in the Regenstrief Institute, Inc. Dr. Callahan served as Director of the Indiana University Center for Aging Research for over 20 years. He conducts clinical research to improve care of older adults in primary care settings, including clinical trials exploring new models of care which increasingly focus on the integration of family, community, and medical services. He studies new approaches to facilitate implementation of care models into routine clinical practice, with emphasis on vulnerable elders.
