Bio
Jennifer Gabbard, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She is triple boarded and completed training in internal medicine, geriatrics, and hospice and palliative medicine at the University of Arizona and has completed a clinician educator fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. Her clinical interests include integration of early palliative care in patients with serious illnesses, clinical care of comorbid chronically ill and frail older adults, and promoting healthy aging. These interests translate into both the educational and research setting. Dr. Gabbard, serves as the Serious Illness and Palliative Medicine research director and as the associate program director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program. In addition, she serves as faculty at the Wake Forest School of Medicine facilitating the course called Medicine and Patients in Society (MAPS). She is a physician-scholar and educator with a strong interest in implementation science, clinical informatics, and pragmatic clinical trial design.
