2021 Health Care Systems Research Network (HCSRN) Conference

May 11, 2021 - May 12, 2021

The HCSRN annual conference is the nation’s preeminent gathering for researchers based in real-world health care systems and our numerous collaborators in academic health systems, funding agencies, and patient-partner communities. The conference offers a diverse slate of content, showcasing rigorous, relevant research on important conditions affecting millions of patients.

IMPACT members are among the panelists presenting, “Aging Research Opportunities for the HCSRN: Finally Reaching Maturity Chronic Conditions, Multi-Morbidity & Aging Populations” at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 12.

The National Institute of Aging (NIA) has invested in the development of infrastructure within the framework of aging research. This panel will provide an overview of three major NIA-funded initiatives that lead efforts to support aging research and training of junior investigators. The Health Care Systems Research Network (HCSRN)-Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Centers (HCSRN-OAIC) “AGING” (Advancing Geriatrics Infrastructure & Network Growth) Initiative aims to create a national resource to nurture and advance an interdisciplinary research agenda focused on older adults with multiple chronic conditions. The National Institute on Aging (NIA) IMbedded Pragmatic Alzheimers disease (AD) and AD Related Dementias (AD/ADRD) Clinical Trials (IMPACT) Collaboratory aims to build the nation’s capacity to conduct pragmatic clinical trials of interventions embedded within health care systems for people living with dementia and their care partners. The US Deprescribing Research Network (USDeN) aims to develop and disseminate evidence about deprescribing for older adults, and in doing so to help improve medication use among older adults and the outcomes that are important to them.
