Heather Allore, PhD (Yale School of Medicine) and Core Leader of the IMPACT Design and Statistics Core, and Guangyu (Tony) Tong, PhD (Yale School of Medicine; Yale School of Public Health) will describe the concept of a dose in behavioral and social interventions. They will cover challenges in determining the optimal dose in behavioral and social interventions, including single- and multicomponent interventions, as well as in the context of heterogeneity. Drs. Allore and Gong will also provide an overview of approaches for testing doses and components, including descriptive, inferential, and adaptive designs. Lastly, we will present a real-world dementia intervention and implications for research.
