Bio: Kimberly Van Haitsma, PhD is a clinical geropsychologist with a PhD in clinical psychology. She is an associate professor in the College of Nursing, Pennsylvania State University and the Director of the Program for Person-Centered Living Systems of Care at the Center for Geriatric Nursing Excellence. Dr. VanHaitsma’ s areas of research focus on the development of evidence base approaches to optimize person-centered care for frail older adults’ multiple chronic conditions receiving care in long term service and supports settings. Her work includes development and testing of mental health education and intervention approaches, innovative methodological and measurement development related to care processes and outcomes, and rigorously testing intervention and implementation strategies that facilitate the uptake of evidence-based person-centered preference-informed care practices.
