Certificate Program: Best Practices for Integrating Health Equity into ePCTs for Dementia Care

The Best Practices for Integrating Health Equity certificate program is a curriculum that provides online training for learners interested in designing and conducting embedded Pragmatic Clinical Trials (ePCTs) for people living with dementia (PLWD) and care partners. This program is available on the IMPACT Learning Library, is a companion to the “Best Practices for Integrating Health Equity into ePCTs for Dementia Care” document. The program consists of 6 courses, which describe best practices for integrating health equity into ePCTs by specific topic areas including:

  1. Getting Started
  2. Community Partner Engagement
  3. Design and Analysis
  4. Intervention Design and Implementation
  5. Health Care System and Participant Selection
  6. Selecting Outcomes

Each course provides instruction on 6 best practices presented in 2-5 video-based modules (or parts).  Instructors in each module provide in-depth descriptions of challenges and real world examples to illustrate best practice application.

Susan Mitchell, MD, MPH, IMPACT multiple principal investigator, is the certificate program director who oversaw the development and management of the content. Program content was developed through a collaborative effort between IMPACT Cores and Teams, Faculty Scholars, and members of the Health Equity Team who provided expert guidance throughout the process.
