IMPACT Ethics and Regulation Core members Emily Largent, PhD, JD and Steve Joffe, MD, MPH are authors on a recent article using examples from actual PCTs to argue that prospective consultation with representatives of the target study population can address, or at least mitigate, many of the ethical challenges that waivers of informed consent pose. Authors briefly consider what consultation might look like.
