IMPACT Career Development Awardees Komal Patel Murali, PhD, RN, and Tina Sadarangani, PhD, RN, ANP-BC, GNP-BC, and others including IMPACT member Ab Brody, PhD, RN, FAAN, conduct integrative review of articles published between 2000 and 2023 to assess existing evidence and gaps in end of life care for people living with dementia.
Articles included in the review focused on dementia, hospice care, transitions, care management and/or coordination, and intervention studies. Findings indicate that prospective, multisite randomized trials and population-based analyses including larger and more diverse samples are needed for improved end-of-life dementia illness counseling and hospice care transitions for people living with dementia and their caregivers.
