Regulation and Ethics Core

The Regulation and Ethics Core focuses on clarifying the balance among the competing priorities of conducting ePCTs in people living with dementia (PLWD) and their care partners, protecting the interests of participants, and assuring health care systems that regulatory issues are addressed.

Core Activities

  • Develops and disseminates guidelines and best practices for the research community that address the particular ethical issues and regulatory structures in conducting ePCTs with PLWD and their care partners.
  • Identifies and addresses ethical and regulatory concerns and barriers to conducting ePCTs in PLWD and their care partners from the perspectives of health care system stakeholders.
  • Provides guidance and training to investigators, regarding ethical and regulatory issues.
