IMPACT members Jasmine Travers, PhD, MHS, Scott Dresden, MD, MS and Cameron Gettel, MD are among the researchers who explored the concerns and desired outcomes of patients 65 and older during emergency visits.
The research team performed a secondary analysis of a multicenter prospective observational study. The study enrolled 1013 patients aged 65 and older during an ED encounter and performed 90-day follow-up interviews.
A variety of concerns were identified by participants during emergency care and two-thirds of them reported that their goals were met by the 90-day follow-up.
