Bio
Dae Hyun Kim, MD, MPH, ScD, is a geriatrician, researcher, and mentor. At the Hebrew SeniorLife Marcus Institute for Aging Research, he directs the Frailty Research Center and co-leads the Center for Analytic Sciences in Aging. Supported by research grants from the National Institute on Aging, Dr. Kim conducts research on the measurement of frailty from healthcare databases, the outcomes of drug therapy and surgical procedures, and the adoption of frailty assessment in clinical practice. At Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, he specializes preoperative frailty assessment for medically complex older adults before transcatheter aortic valve replacement. As a mentor, Dr. Kim has advised over 50 early-career investigators in frailty, pharmacoepidemiology, and health services research. He has authored over 300 publications. His contribution to the field has been recognized with the 2023 American Geriatrics Society Thomas and Catherine Yoshikawa Outstanding Scientific Achievement for Clinical Investigation Award and the election to the American Society for Clinical Investigation in 2024.
