Technology that CARES: Enhancing dementia care through everyday technologies

A new article by IMPACT Career Development Awardee, Andrew Kiselica, PhD, and team describes how digital technologies can improve life for and enhance care of people living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD).  They describe potential benefits and drawbacks to the increased reliance on technology in caring for this population and introduce ways researchers can develop and deploy technology that CARES, including via Cognitive offloading, Automation, Remote monitoring, Emotional/social support, and Symptom treatment.  In conclusion, authors provide steps for advancing technology-focused research on ADRD care.
