The National Institute on Aging will hold a one-day virtual workshop on August 28, bringing together experts in the field ─ including current NIH grantees and future NIH applicants ─ with interests in the GUIDE model and/or other comprehensive dementia care models.
Workshop participants will discuss differential access to GUIDE, impact of payment models in quality of care or access to care, and additional data that could be beneficial to researchers or GUIDE model healthcare providers. Furthermore, the workshop will address comprehensive dementia care models’ utility and challenges across the full disease continuum.
The workshop participants will identify potential research opportunities for dementia care coordination models and discuss available and needed data to address research gaps. Outputs should also inform researchers, patients, families, health systems, and federal partners working with GUIDE and other dementia care coordination programs.
