Bio
Kimberly VanHaitsma, PhD, is a clinical geropsychologist with a doctorate in clinical psychology. She is a professor in the College of Nursing, Pennsylvania State University and the director of the Program for Person Centered Living Systems of Care at the Center for Geriatric Nursing Excellence. Dr. VanHaitsma’ s areas of research focus on the development of evidence-based approaches to optimize person-centered care for frail older adults’ multiple chronic conditions receiving care in long term service and support settings. Her work includes the development and testing of mental health education, intervention and implementation approaches, innovative methodological and measurement development related to care processes and outcomes, and intervention and implementation strategies that facilitate the uptake of evidence-based person-centered preference-informed care practices.
