Jason Karlawish, MD, is a professor of medicine, medical ethics and health policy, and neurology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. He is board-certified in geriatric medicine. Dr. Karlawish leads the Penn Program for Precision Medicine for the Brain (P3MB), and is co-associate director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, co-director of the Penn Memory Center, and director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Center’s Outreach, Recruitment and Education Core. He is the author of The Problem of Alzheimer’s: How Science, Culture and Politics Turned a Rare Disease Into a Crisis and What We Can Do About It.

Dae Hyun Kim, MD, MPH, ScD, is a geriatrician, researcher, and mentor. At the Hebrew SeniorLife Marcus Institute for Aging Research, he directs the Frailty Research Center and co-leads the Center for Analytic Sciences in Aging. Supported by research grants from the National Institute on Aging, Dr. Kim conducts research on the measurement of frailty from healthcare databases, the outcomes of drug therapy and surgical procedures, and the adoption of frailty assessment in clinical practice. At Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, he specializes preoperative frailty assessment for medically complex older adults before transcatheter aortic valve replacement. As a mentor, Dr. Kim has advised over 50 early-career investigators in frailty, pharmacoepidemiology, and health services research. He has authored over 300 publications. His contribution to the field has been recognized with the 2023 American Geriatrics Society Thomas and Catherine Yoshikawa Outstanding Scientific Achievement for Clinical Investigation Award and the election to the American Society for Clinical Investigation in 2024.

Theresa Kim, PhD, MS, is a program officer for the NIA Division of Behavioral and Social Research (DBSR). She has a statistical genetics, clinical trials, and global population health background as they pertain to health systems in AD/ADRD and aging research. Before joining NIA, she was a program officer of Methods to Improve Clinical Effectiveness Research and Patient-Centered Outcomes Research at PCORI. Stephanie Kissam, MPH, is the executive director of the Long-Term Care Data Cooperative, one component of the NIA IMPACT Collaboratory and governed by the American Health Care Association (AHCA). In this role, she supports the core mission of using electronic health record data assembled in the LTC Data Cooperative for health care improvement, public health surveillance, and comparative effectiveness and clinical trials research. She has over 20 years of leadership in public health program development, research, and management, including as a program director at RTI International, where she led large national evaluation projects for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and the Administration for Community Living. Her areas of research include health IT implementation, nursing home quality measure development and maintenance, outcomes of value-based payment models, and state health policy. Earlier in her career, she contributed to the development of Rhode Island’s Health Information Exchange and patient-centered medical home initiatives while at the Department of Health. Additionally, at the Rhode Island Quality Improvement Organization, she developed resources to support nursing homes with CMS’s National Nursing Home Quality Initiative.
