Dae Hyun Kim, MD, MPH, ScD, is a geriatrician, researcher, and mentor. At the Hebrew SeniorLife Marcus Institute for Aging Research, he directs the Frailty Research Center and co-leads the Center for Analytic Sciences in Aging. Supported by research grants from the National Institute on Aging, Dr. Kim conducts research on the measurement of frailty from healthcare databases, the outcomes of drug therapy and surgical procedures, and the adoption of frailty assessment in clinical practice. At Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, he specializes preoperative frailty assessment for medically complex older adults before transcatheter aortic valve replacement. As a mentor, Dr. Kim has advised over 50 early-career investigators in frailty, pharmacoepidemiology, and health services research. He has authored over 300 publications. His contribution to the field has been recognized with the 2023 American Geriatrics Society Thomas and Catherine Yoshikawa Outstanding Scientific Achievement for Clinical Investigation Award and the election to the American Society for Clinical Investigation in 2024.

Stephanie Kissam, MPH, is the executive director of the Long-Term Care Data Cooperative, one component of the NIA IMPACT Collaboratory and governed by the American Health Care Association (AHCA). In this role, she supports the core mission of using electronic health record data assembled in the LTC Data Cooperative for health care improvement, public health surveillance, and comparative effectiveness and clinical trials research. She has over 20 years of leadership in public health program development, research, and management, including as a program director at RTI International, where she led large national evaluation projects for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and the Administration for Community Living. Her areas of research include health IT implementation, nursing home quality measure development and maintenance, outcomes of value-based payment models, and state health policy. Earlier in her career, she contributed to the development of Rhode Island’s Health Information Exchange and patient-centered medical home initiatives while at the Department of Health. Fan Li, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the Yale School of Public Health, a faculty member in the Yale Center for Methods in Implementation and Prevention Science (CMIPS), the Yale Center for Analytical Sciences (YCAS), as well as an affiliated faculty member of the Yale Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC). He received his PhD in Biostatistics from Duke University in 2019 and joined the Yale Biostatistics faculty the same year. His primary research interests are in developing causal inference methods for both observational studies and pragmatic clinical trials, including those employing cluster randomization and stepped wedge designs. His methodological contributions span causal mediation analysis, principal stratification, treatment effect heterogeneity, selection bias, and techniques for improving both internal and external validity in treatment comparisons across diverse study designs. Dr. Li has been the principal investigator of multiple NIH- and PCORI-funded awards. He has published over 170 peer-reviewed articles in statistical methodology and collaborative research, advancing the design and analysis of clinical and population health studies.

Hillary Lum, MD, PhD, is a geriatrician and palliative care physician who is passionate about designing, testing, and implementing pragmatic interventions for older adults with serious illness, including mild cognitive impairment and dementia, and family care partners. She is professor of medicine in the Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She did her MD/PhD at University of Wisconsin-Madison and internal medicine residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. As a 2016 NIA Beeson Scholar, Dr. Lum designed and demonstrated the efficacy of a novel advance care planning group visit intervention for older adults in primary care, and studied adaptation for individuals with mild cognitive impairment and their care partners. In 2021, she was one of the inaugural NIA IMPACT Collaboratory Health Care System Scholars. Her research focuses on community engagement, pragmatic interventions through the patient portal, and implementation science. Jennifer Lund, PhD, MSPH, FISPE, is a professor of epidemiology and the director of Data Strategy and Education with the UNC Lineberger’s Cancer Information and Population Health Resource (CIPHR). Dr. Lund conducts pharmacoepidemiologic and health services research, with applications in cancer, aging, and the environment. The overall objective of her work is to generate robust evidence on the delivery and effectiveness of healthcare interventions that will improve decisions made by policymakers, providers, and patients and their families. Dr. Lund’s research program draws upon clinical trials, large healthcare databases, publicly available surveys, and environmental data, along with advanced epidemiologic methods to evaluate: (1) the delivery of high-quality care, (2) the effectiveness and safety of treatment, and (3) the role of environmental exposures on treatment access, adherence, and outcomes. She previously served on the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE) Board of Directors and is an associate editor for Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety, as well as an editorial board member for Epidemiology and the Journal of Geriatric Oncology.
